latest Announces Official Launch Date to Coincide with The NAMM Show

After being in a development phase for several months, peer-to-peer drum-focused ecommerce site has announced that its official launch date will be Jan. 16, 2020, coinciding with the first day of the NAMM Show. bills itself as a competitor to, which has become the dominant force in the online music instruments market. Its founder is George Lawrence, who is also the publisher of Not So Modern Drummer magazine and a professional drummer himself.

"We've been working to keep the site streamlined and attractive and to provide the basic services that our sellers need most," Lawrence recently told Music Inc. "Our key customers are the retailers and manufacturers of new gear who want to sell direct, and we are better able to serve more of them as we grow."

The website includes free want ads, trade listings, commenting and discussion, and offers multiple payment options, according to Lawrence said. He says part of the motivation for launching the website is that restrictions, fees, and penalties on other ecommerce sites like eBay and Amazon had become "oppressive to many sellers."

“All drummers are welcome to this ‘club,’ which has a rich history going back to 1988, when Not So Modern Drummer started as a printed classified ads rag and directory for vintage drum collectors. When you sign up you can receive daily or weekly email updates of the latest gear listings, articles from Not So Modern Drummer and announcements from members. Many of the buyers and sellers here are some of the most well-known and experienced drummers, vintage drum collectors and retailers, some of who have been with us since the beginning. If it has to do with drums, it's welcome here,” the company explains on the website.

Sellers can post free listings for their drum-related products at no charge. When a product sells, automatically deducts a 4% commission from the total payment of the sale price and shipping. Anyone is invited to be a seller, from occasional sellers, to vintage resellers, retailers both online and brick and mortar, drum builders, drum manufacturers, entrepreneurs of new percussion accessories, etc.
