Trade Regrets: Allan Ash Of A.M.I. Sales Agency (1951-2013)

ashCMT regrets to report that longtime Canadian MI industry staple Allan Ash passed away earlier today after a bout with cancer. Most recently, Allan and his company, A.M.I. Sales Agency, were representing lines like Dansr, Antigua Winds, Pearl concert and marching percussion and flutes, and Adam concert and marching percussion.

Allan is survived by his wife Joan, his children Tanya (Steve) and Ryan (Melissa), and three grandchildren.

Prior to founding his own agency, Allan had represented Gemstone Musical Instruments and G. Leblanc Corporation and enjoyed a stint with Yamaha Canada Music. He also donated time to initiatives like the Canadian Music Industry Education Committee (CMIEC) and Ontario Music Educators Association (OMEA).

Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army on Thornton Rd. in Oshawa on Monday, Sept. 30, at 11 am.
