Steve Butterworth Appointed to New Role on Yamaha Canada Music Board

Steve Butterworth has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Yamaha Canada Music Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation of Japan.

In this role, he is responsible for coordinating and documenting the annual board meeting with Yamaha Canada board members from Canada, the USA, and Japan each year. He is following Rob Barg, who became a member of the board for six years following his retirement from Yamaha in 2014 following a 43-year career.

Butterworth remains in his role as vice president, responsible for all sales and marketing functions for Musical Instruments and Pro Audio Products, as well as the Yamaha Music Education System of 50 schools across Canada. Butterworth started with Yamaha as a sales consultant and product specialist in the Band and Orchestra Department in 1996.

"I am honoured to follow Rob Barg in this appointment and appreciate the opportunity to continue to contribute to the company in this new role," Butterworth comments to Canadian Music Trade.
