Montreal’s SFM has announced its appointment as the Canadian distributor of Lakland bass guitars.

The Chicago-based company introduced its flagship models in 1994 and is known for pairing vintage comfort and contemporary ingenuity. Lakland’s tone, playability, and construction have attracted discerning artists from every genre of music, including Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Jerry Scheff, Bob Glaub, Donald “Duck” Dunn, Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones), Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine), and more.

“We are thrilled to add Lakand to our Canadian portfolio,” says John Kelley, GM of SFM’s MI business unit. “The design and construction of their products is second-to-none, and their reputation for quality places them squarely among our other best-in-class, boutique brands.”

“I am proud and honored to have Lakland represented and distributed in Canada by a firm as great as SFM,” says John Pirruccello, president of Lakland Guitars, LLC. “I am very much looking forward to working with their excellent team to expand Lakland’s reach and reputation in the great Canadian market.”
