Saved By Technology Purchased by Long & McQuade

Saved by TechnologyPopular downtown Toronto specialty MIDI and audio equipment retailer Saved By Technology has been acquired by Long & McQuade but will retain its name and staff. The announcement was made today by store co-owner Jim Burgess.

“The building in downtown Toronto where we have been located since May 1986 has been sold, and in order to ensure the continued operations of the company we have entered into a business agreement with Long & McQuade, who are now the new owners and managers. By mid-June, Saved By Technology will be moving to an exciting new location at 2 Eastern Avenue,” Burgess wrote in an email to clients and customers.

Saved By Technology will keep its name and will continue to sell the same products, including computers, Pro Tools software and hardware, Eurorack products, and more. Burgess says all of the company’s product specialists will remain and will be part of this move.

Saved By Technology will continue operations at its current location at 145 St. Luke Lane until mid-June, and will be offering sales from now until mid-June. After that there will be an opening day celebration at the new location.

“Kim [Devine, co-owner] and I will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations but will stay on as consultants. I couldn’t be more pleased to transition the company smoothly over to Long & McQuade, a company that shares our deeply-ingrained commitment to provide excellent customer service and technical support for the sophisticated systems we put together,” adds Burgess. “Saved By Technology is in good hands, and Kim and I wish to extend our profuse thanks for the support that we have been given by the close-knit music and audio community over the last 31 years!”
