National Music Centre to Host the 3rd Alberta Electronic Music Conference in November

The National Music Centre, home of Studio Bell, will host the Alberta Electronic Music Conference (AEMCON) from Nov. 15-18 in Calgary. This industry gathering for music producers, DJs, industry professionals, and fans of electronic music attracts delegates from 46 cities from across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. AEMCON’s mission is to elevate Western Canada’s electronic music scene through education, networking, and collaboration.

This year will be the AEMCON’s third edition. In 2017, the conference featured five days of daytime and nighttime programming with 16+ individual club shows and events across seven venues. The conference portion hosted over 35 workshops and panels with nearly 100 speakers and performing artists and more than 1,500 people in attendance.

AEMCON organizers say they promise to expand on last year’s strengths. All programming at Studio Bell will take place among the National Music Centre’s collections and museum space, offering an ideal setting for advancing attendees’ understanding of music.

The programming for this year’s AEMCON will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information as it becomes available, go to
