Mira Wölfel Named Head of Sales & Planning Department at Musikmesse & Prolight + Sound

Mira_Wölfel_(c)_Messe_FrankfurtMira Wölfel has assumed responsibility for the new Sales & Planning Department of Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound. She is now responsible for the sales activities, customer support, and planning and organisation of the two fairs with particular emphasis given to opening up new markets and customer segments. In this position, Wölfel reports to Michael Biwer, Group Show Director of the ‘Entertainment, Media & Creative Industries’ Business Unit.

Wölfel studied International Relations at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and has been with the Messe Frankfurt Group since 2005. She initially worked in the Visitor Services Department before moving to sales in 2011. As sales manager in the ‘Consumer Goods’ Business Unit, she was responsible for the consumer-goods fair, Ambiente, and the related Tendence trade fair. In July 2015, she moved to the Prolight + Sound Sales Team where, most recently, she was in charge of the audio section.

The concentration of sales activities for the Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound trade fairs in the new Sales & Planning Department is part of a comprehensive reorganisation that integrates the teams of both events in several different fields of activity. The aim of the restructuring is to consolidate expert knowledge, to make full use of synergistic effects and to optimise contacts with associations, exhibitors, visitors, key communicators and partners.
