MIAC Cancels 2013 Trade Shows

Citing a shortfall in exhibitor participation, MIAC has announced the cancellation of the 2013 editions of the MIAC and PAL shows, formerly scheduled for September 8-9, 2013, in a statement released August 1st. The association’s board of directors made the decision after “long and careful consideration.”

“After much study and strenuous efforts, there was simply no path at hand to be able to produce a show that would meet the expectations of the exhibitors and attendees, and it was better to cancel the show at this stage before companies spent additional funds on travel, show expenses, etc.,” reads a statement from the association.

In general, retailers have been surprised and disappointed by the news, with many noting the need for such an event and the business and networking opportunities it provides.
