Coast Music Announces Canadian Distribution Agreements with Walden Guitars, AirTurn, Green Tones, Gemini Sound & Powerwerks

Despite the turbulence in the MI industry caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Coast Music has continued to bolster its distribution portfolio with a slew of new brands added. In recent weeks, the JAM Industries company has announced new Canadian distribution agreements with Walden Guitars, KHS America’s Green Tones brand, AirTurn, Gemini sound products, and Powerwerks sound reinforcement products.

Walden Guitars

After several years of absence from the global market, the Walden brand made its re-introduction at the 2020 NAMM show and Coast Music was secured as its exclusive Canadian distribution partner. Founded originally in 1996 by Jonathan Lee and KHS Musical Instruments, Walden offers steel-string, classical, and baritone guitars that offer unique low-mass bracing and neck reinforcement designs.

“I’m so excited to be reunited with the great folks at Coast Music, Canadian dealers, and Canadian guitarists. My vision has always been to infuse every Walden with the best balance of musicality, stability, appearance, and affordability,” says Jonathan Lee. “I always felt that the Walden® story was not over and when I had the opportunity to secure and re-awaken the brand, I had to take it. With Low-Mass soundboard bracing, and graphite and glass-fiber reinforced necks, Walden guitars are better than they’ve ever been. It is my hope that your 2020 Walden experience will be a wonderful one.”

“We are excited to have the Walden brand back in our portfolio and to bring these beautifully-made guitars back for our network of Canadian guitar dealers,” says Coast Music’s National Sales Manager, Scott Atkins (pictured above). “We have long-admired Jonathan’s commitment to quality while producing stunning instruments at attractive price points.”

Coast Music and AirTurn have entered into an exclusive distribution agreement for Canada for its app control devices, effective July 1, 2020. From wireless app controllers to page turners and mobile mounting hardware, AirTurn designs user-friendly tools for executing performance and improving aspects of working in the industrial, music, medical industries, and more.

“AirTurn is looking forward to serving our Canadian customers with a broader set of services and value through Coast Music,” says Director of Sales, Lester Karplus.

“We look forward to working with AirTurn and their range of innovative products to increase the reach to end users through our partner dealers in the Canadian Market,” says Atkins.

Apart from a few accessories, the majority of AirTurn products are manufactured in the USA under strict environmentally conscious-measures, according to the company.

Green Tones

Coast Music has enjoyed a close working relationship with the Hohner company spanning several decades and has recently added the KHS America’s Green Tones brand for distribution in Canada.  Green Tones is an award-winning brand originally developed by Hohner that is committed to developing age-appropriate instruments to stimulate cognitive abilities and physical skills in children.

“Adding these exciting instruments and toys to our catalogue was a natural fit for us as we’ve continued to develop our range of products for young children, and the team at KHS America understands this market fully, providing a great partnership in our efforts to bring these exciting products to our clients,” says Atkins.

The Green Tones range of eco instruments and toys are made from sustainable rubberwood making them not only good for your child, but good for the planet! Gemini Sound Products

Coast Music is also now the exclusive distributor for Gemini Sound Products in Canada. Gemini has been making products for the DJ, pro audio, and consumer electronics markets since 1974.

“We are excited to partner with Coast Music and solidify our distribution in Canada. Coast is the perfect partner to be able to support our brand and ensure its growth. We look forward to working together to get our great assortment of products into the hands of the Canadian consumer,” says Gemini VP of Sales, Ikey Cabasso.

“We’re thrilled to be working with a great team of professionals at Gemini to bring their exciting products to the Canadian market.  The diversity in the product range greatly supports our recent expansion into the audio market,” says Atkins.

DJ products have long been a focus for Gemini, but it continues to develop additional products for musicians, engineers, sound contractors, and professional installers.

Coast Music will also handle all Canadian distribution for Powerwerks’ range of powered speakers, personal monitors, subwoofers, and mixers.

“Hanser Music Group – Powerwerks is always seeking to expand our market reach in the world by cultivating relationships with agile, innovative distributors,” says Carlos Vargas, International Sales Manager at Hanser Music Group.  “We have high expectations that our collaboration with Coast Music will yield great success in further penetrating the Canadian market and make a positive difference in the lives of our customers”.

“Powerwerks complements our recent expansion into the audio market and provides a focused product range to meet the needs of both demanding musicians and non-musicians seeking professional sound reinforcement,” adds Atkins.
