In response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Coalition for Music Education is bringing Music Monday online for 2020. As originally planned, this year's edition of Music Monday will take place across the country on May 4th.
The day-long broadcast will include a series of exciting regional broadcasts with:
-new music from the Coalition's Youth4Music Ambassadors
-interactive activities for kids of all ages
-messages from prominent Canadians
-a specially-curated Spotlight Celebration, highlighting some of the Coalition's favourite content from across the country
-and an after party
The 2020 Music Monday anthem is Oscar Peterson’s iconic “Hymn to Freedom,” with lyrics by Hariette Hamilton. Check out the Oscar Peterson Learning Guide to read more about this Canadian legend and champion of music education.
If you’ve already registered for Music Monday, you'll receive a link to the broadcasts on May 1st.
If you’re new to Music Monday, register online and get early access to learning guides, resources, and recordings, and pre-broadcast videos.
